It’s Christmas time and we’re all deep in the jolly festive spirit now, aren’t we? Bundling up in blankets with our loved ones, preferably with a cup of hot chocolate or two, what better way to spend the holidays, right? But maybe you could try something a bit different this year?
Pehchaan the Street School is proud to announce their collaboration with Girl Up Ascent, an NGO based in Delhi to set up a Charity Fundraiser to donate blankets to underprivileged students this winter. Both of these organizations have been tirelessly working towards the betterment of society from the grassroots level and have embarked on a journey this winter to ensure that as many children as possible can enjoy this Christmas season bundled up under warm blankets.
As the winters get colder and the weather more unforgiving, it’s easy to forget the plight of underprivileged kids who may suffer through yet another bitter winter, without proper bedding. Younger kids are especially at risk, with a lack of access to adequate heating arrangements or blankets, the winters become longer, unbearable, and even more deadly. We need you to put your best foot forward this year and take some time out of your day to donate a little, it can be as little as 30 rupees to ensure that a child does not go without a blanket this winter. Also spread the word at home or at work to get others in on the action and have fun this Christmas knowing that you’ve not just made your life better, but have contributed to society and brought a smile to a child’s face.
For those with closets that are just bursting at the seams with heaps of clothes that just keep piling up, why don’t you take this opportunity to clean out your closet a little and donate any old clothes (in good condition, please!) to a donation drive that we have set up with the Delhi Himachal School Association and the Delhi Kinnaur Students Association. Donating clothes instead of throwing them away as we usually would do, is not only a great shot at being more eco-friendly, but has also helped decrease the amount of waste being dumped in landfills, which has been an ever-growing struggle with excessive consumerism these days.
One of the standout moments of the visit was when Rohit playfully spritzed perfume on the children, sparking laughter and joy. The children were fascinated by the fresh scent and amused as the light mist landed on them, creating a moment of pure happiness. It was a small, simple gesture, but it captured the essence of Rohit’s personality—someone who understands how tiny moments of joy can leave a lasting impact. His natural ability to bring out smiles in such an effortless way perfectly aligned with the day’s spirit.
