Setting Up A Street School

Setting up a street school requires patience, dedication, and commitment. But along with Pehchaan the street school and the right approach, it can be a powerful tool for empowering underprivileged communities and providing them with the education they need to build a better future.

  • Choose a community to work with: This could be a group of people who live in a slum or a low-income neighbourhood, or it could be street children, refugees, or any other oppressed group.
  • Research the community: Learn about the requirements, difficulties, and possibilities of the community.
  • Recruit volunteers: Look for volunteers who are devoted to serving the community and who are passionate about education. They can assist you in developing and implementing the programme and serve as mentors and role models for the kids.
  • Choose an area: An area that is safe and secure to put up the street school. This might be an open area that is kid-friendly. You might also need basic furniture like a chalkboard, rugs mats, stools, drinking water source, etc.
  • Create a curriculum: Create a curriculum that is appropriate, interesting, and catered to the requirements of the kids.
  • Get teaching resources: Obtain teaching resources, like books, pencils, and other stationery items, that are required for the program’s delivery.
  • Contact the neighbourhood: Get in touch with the neighbourhood and let them know about the street school. To get the word out, you can use flyers, social media, and other media.
  • Start the programme: Once you have everything in place, you can begin the programme. Make sure you have a clear plan for programme delivery and systems in place to monitor and evaluate its impact.
  • Build relationships: It’s critical to take the time to listen to the suggestions and feedback, and include them in decision-making processes.
  • Seek help from local organisations, businesses, and individuals who share your vision and mission. They can help you sustain and grow the programme by providing financial, material, or moral support.
