Beyond the Classroom: The Journeys of Ayush and Gaurav
There are some places where learning feels different, not because the subjects are new, but because the way people are supported begins to change how they see themselves, and at Pehchaan The Street School, this change often starts quietly, in small classrooms where students come with their own doubts and hopes, and slowly begin to find direction.
This is a story of two students, Ayush and Gaurav, whose journeys did not begin in the same way, yet both found themselves at moments where they had to decide whether to step forward or step back, even when the outcome was not certain.
Ayush had always wanted to become an engineer, and this dream had stayed with him for a long time, even when he did not fully know how he would reach there, and he continued his studies at the GTB Nagar centre of Pehchaan The Street School with this thought guiding him.
One day, he learned about a program that allowed students from Class 9 to prepare for fields like engineering and medical, and this felt like a real chance to move closer to his goal, even though the idea of an entrance test made him quite nervous.
The fear was felt, but it was not allowed to stop him, and help was asked for by Ayush when he approached Shubham Sir and shared that he wanted to prepare, even if the time left was short.
The preparation was started with the time that was available, and it was guided step by step, without pressure but with care, and each day was used to cover what could be done.
There were no big expectations, yet the effort was taken seriously, and this helped him stay steady.
On the day of the exam, Ayush was accompanied by Shubham Sir, and this support gave him confidence.
The result brought happiness, as Ayush cleared the entrance test and secured admission, and another challenge soon appeared, as the school given to him was far from his home, making daily travel difficult.
This situation was not ignored, and a request was made after explaining his condition and his connection with Pehchaan The Street School, and it was accepted, allowing him to shift to a school near Civil Lines where he could continue with ease.
Now, Ayush is studying in Class 9, and his journey continues with more clarity, as his dream still guides him and now feels closer.
Gaurav’s journey began differently, as he was not a student of Pehchaan The Street School at first, but he came looking for help when he needed it most, with a clear wish to study Commerce in Class 11.
His marks in Class 10 were not strong enough, and he was told that he would have to clear an entrance test if he wanted that path, and this could have been a moment to step back.
Instead, he decided to try again, even when only one month was left, and he approached the team hoping for guidance.
The preparation was guided by Shubham Sir, who helped him focus on what mattered most, and the time available was used carefully, with steady effort.
Each day was taken seriously, and even when time felt short, the work continued.
When the result came, Gaurav had cleared the entrance test and secured admission into the Commerce stream, which he had wanted from the beginning.
Today, Gaurav is studying in Class 11, and he continues with a stronger sense of direction.
These journeys may seem simple, but they show what can happen when students are supported at the right time, and how small all the help can lead to meaningful change.
