A Day of Shared Connections: Bennett University Collaborates with Pehchaan The Street School

In an inspiring gesture towards societal growth, Pehchaan The Street School partnered with Bennett University by setting up a stall at the esteemed university.

Amid a growing crowd of college students stood our stall, as high as our hopes to provide education to the underprivileged children.

The initiative was part of a larger perspective of awareness among tomorrow’s change-makers, the youth of the country.

The collaboration depicted stories on the importance of education in a child’s life. The future it gives to one is the broader aspect of life, but dignity is the core strength a child gains through learning that never fades but shines through the classrooms, transcending into the real world.

The emotions quickly moved towards action, as our team began explaining the NGO’s vision and mission to the visitors showing up at the stall.

Action Sparks Creativity!

The interaction now entered a phase where the ideas were flowing, the concepts were clearer as the visitors started to resonate with our values.

The questions followed, many of them circled around one key question – How can we help?

The answer was intact, help doesn’t come in fixed sizes or shapes. A child sleeping with a full stomach at night, a student being able to pursue higher education are all parts of growth in various forms.

The staircase to expression is often associated with education, and our team structured the concept into clear words that the students of the university could follow on with.

Word of Mouth!

As time elapsed, the numbers at the stall started rising in an upward fashion, and what followed was purpose.

The students found themselves in the right position to ask doubts, they once feared as children themselves.

A lot of them were well aware of the fact that education matters, but most of us are left with a dangling question in our minds.

What makes it special, is it because it’s stated to be a fundamental right under our constitution? Not really, let’s dive deeper into the answer our NGO has to the question.

Education is the brooch that highlights one’s persona, shines through the dark when light reflects on it.

In simpler words, education ensures that a human can experience life from a higher mountain, one that binds life together.

The key to our solutions lies in the questions themselves, and the idea quickly made its way to the muscles of the youth at the university.

The Pathway towards Mission

“Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day.

Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime”

A simple proverb to the eyes, a greater meaning than life.

The words may sound simple and easy to pronounce, but the idea behind it goes miles beyond casual sentences.

The NGO for long has stood by the proverb and is deeply committed to integrating the same into every collaboration they are a part of.

The same ritual followed at the university too, as the team explained the purpose behind the words.

One student giggled, how does that happen, does teaching fishing really change a life? The team had their answer crafted.

A fish here represents the life-long learning and privilege to grow one experiences through education, the crowd immersed into the silence as the words followed.

What first sounded simple soon revealed deeper meaning, as the words flowed.

Another asked, What can I do for the children? The team explained their working model to the students at that moment and kept in front the various posters visually depicting the ways to contribute to the mission.

One read, Holi Campaign – School Chalein Kit! The curious minds quickly spotted the wordings and enquired about the same.

Contributions followed next, as students felt the fire in them to support a cause greater than  the buildings they are surrounded by.

The Last Lane

As the team wrapped up the belongings, they were happy leaving something precious behind.

They left the premises with satisfaction in their hearts reflecting through their smiles.

The place belonged to them for a few hours, but the journey will stay forever. The subtle support that showed up in the form of visitors and students was truly magnetic.

The key takeaway for both sides was similar. The NGO understood the newer generation and its thinking from a fresh angle.

While the students from afar applauded the NGO’s commitment towards providing FREE education to underprivileged children.
