Winters are here & temperature is falling below 5 degrees in Delhi. Do you feel the chills? Probably not!! Because you have heaters, blankets & good warm clothes but not everyone has the same privilege. There are thousands of people who we see, every day, on streets, who don’t have proper houses or heaters or even warm clothes. Ever wondered how they survive in this chilling winters? Well, we couldn’t even imagine & that’s what made us decide to help these people.
Christmas was here & just like every year, we were supposed to celebrate the day with our students. But this time, we were not just planning to donate stationery & eatables but warm clothes & blankets too.
Pehchaan The Street School initiated a blanket donation campaign “SPREAD THE WARMTH” along with Inpact Collective & invited people to donate blankets, winter caps & clothes for students. What’s next was unexpected support of people from all across Delhi. We received more than 400 number of Blankets, Winter Caps & winter clothes within 4 days from the launch of campaign. From students to businessmen to housewives, everyone came forward to help us in our initiative.
It was a proud moment seeing such support by people & the love they have showered on these beautiful children.
Just like every year, we celebrated Christmas at 3 centres in Delhi – ITO, Kirti Nagar & Laxmi Nagar.
Blankets, winter clothes & eatables were donated to more than 400 underprivileged childen. The event also involved various dance performances by the students.
We thank each & every donor, volunteer & supporter who helped us organise such an event successfully.
